If you’ve ever thought, “Blogging sounds great, but who has the time?” – this one’s for you.
Eden from Maven Made Copy has blogged every single week for over a year and not just for the sake of consistency. Her blog posts are strategic visibility tools that bring in the right clients, grow her email list, and keep working for her long after she hits publish.
I sat down with Eden to talk about how she does it, how blogging and email work together, and why blogging is still 100% worth it in 2025.
The biggest reason Eden blogs so consistently? She treats her business like a client. She explained that she adds all her own business tasks to Asana the same way she would for client work. “I wouldn’t miss a deadline for a client, and I won’t miss one for myself,” she says.
Planning ahead is another key piece. Eden doesn’t sit down each week wondering what to write about – she already knows. “I spend time planning my content ahead of time, so I’m not scrambling to write a blog. I have the topic and keyword picked out, so what to write about isn’t a question. I usually have at least a month (ideally a quarter) of topics planned.”
Her best tool for staying consistent is a strategic content calendar.
It keeps her from writing just for the sake of posting and helps her stay focused on topics that actually matter to her audience. (You can grab her free Blog Content Calendar here.)
Inside The Email Growth Club, we create content plans like this every month to help you grow your list without burning out.
Blogging can sometimes bring in random website visitors, but Eden says you can influence who finds you by being intentional with your keywords and topics. “You can’t control who lands on your website, but you can tell search engines who you want to come to your website through keywords,” she explains.
Every blog post you publish is another chance to help search engines understand who you help and what you do. “The more it understands your business, the better traffic it gives you,” she says.
And the simplest way to get the right people reading?
Write posts that are actually useful for your ideal clients. “If you directly answer their questions in your blog posts, they’ll find your website organically.”
Eden never publishes a blog without a call-to-action, because she knows most people won’t just “come back later” to her website. “I have a CTA to join my email list in every single blog I publish,” she says. “I never know how someone is going to find my website. Maybe it’s through a blog I published a year ago, or the one I published last week… I can’t assume that they know who I am just because I’ve been in business for a while.”
She recommends always giving readers a clear next step – whether that’s joining your list, downloading a freebie, or signing up for a webinar.
Just make sure the call-to-action fits naturally with the blog topic.

If you’re stuck on what to blog about, Eden has a simple strategy that works for beginners and seasoned bloggers alike. She goes back through old posts to find topics she can expand on.
She gave the example of working with a client who offered SEO and branding services. They talked about domain authority a lot but had never written a full post on it. So she suggested a post breaking it down, what it is, why it’s important, and how to increase it.
This approach works because you already know your audience is interested in those topics, you can add internal links between posts to help with SEO, and you’re anticipating the questions your audience is asking.
If you’re starting fresh with no previous blogs to build on, Eden says to think about the questions your clients always ask – or even the questions you had yourself when you were starting out.
You don’t need to be an SEO expert to get results from blogging.
Eden recommends starting with the basics:
These small steps add up over time and help search engines understand your content.
With AI answering search queries directly in search results, some business owners wonder if blogging is still worth it.
Eden’s answer? Absolutely.
“Would you rather spend 10 minutes on a social media post that will have about an hour of visibility, or two hours on a blog that will be shown in search results for years?” she says. “Some of my (and my client’s) best blog posts are ones we wrote years ago. Those are the blogs bringing in hundreds of clicks per month.”
And AI doesn’t replace blogging – it relies on it. “AI uses information it finds on the internet to provide answers – AKA, your blog posts. AI needs us to continue creating content, and we won’t be penalised for doing so.”
The only catch?
Be patient. “You can’t expect to see results overnight. Or honestly, in the first few months. But the effort you put in now will pay off down the line (and in big ways!). The sooner you start, the sooner you’ll reap the benefits.”
You don’t have to write brand new content for your email list every time. Eden recommends using sections of your blogs to create email content.
“Most blog posts will have multiple sections and key takeaways. Use one of those main points as your email content. Expand upon the topic a little more and provide additional value to your subscribers.”
She might, for example, take one tip from her blog post about common content writing mistakes and turn it into an email with a link to the full post for readers who want more.
Remember, blogging only works if you’re writing with purpose. “A blog post should answer a real question or solve a specific problem for your target audience. No fluff – just useful, relevant content. You can have a super strong SEO strategy, but if the topic isn’t relevant to your audience, they aren’t going to read it. You’ll get random people on your website who don’t care about your offers.”
The bottom line?
Make sure every post is written for your audience, not just for search engines.
