I help women just like you grow your audience and email list fast, in a way that feels aligned, is fun AF and guarantees that you get to live a life that you actually like.
I started this podcast in 2020 when the world kinda stopped and I felt so fucking alone (can you relate?!)… and since then it’s become one of the favorite parts of my biz and how I make friends as an adult.
Part happy hour - part business school - it’s a fun mix and nothing is off limits. I hope you tune in!
Today, I’m going to share with you my absolute favourite strategy for growing my email list in 2024 – hosting free digital bundles. Now, if you’ve been following me for a while, you know I’m all about finding effective, relationship-based ways to grow your email list without the constant grind of social media or paid ads… and let me tell you, digital bundles are an absolute game changer!
Over the past year, I’ve hosted multiple bundles – some within my membership, The Email Growth Club, and others publicly, like The Goal Getter Biz Bundle, The Empowered Mompreneur Bundle, The Visible AF Bundle, and of course, Kylie’s Birthday Bash Bundle. These bundles have collectively added thousands of engaged subscribers to my email list, and today, I’m going to share exactly why they work so well and how you can start using this strategy too.
Click play to listen to the episode in full:
First things first, let’s talk about what digital bundles actually are.
A digital bundle is essentially a collection of high quality, normally paid resources or digital products, all packaged together and offered to a targeted audience, to solve a specific problem. The magic happens when you bring together multiple contributors – each offering something valuable – and in exchange for access to these resources, participants sign up with their name & email addresses. It’s a win-win: contributors grow their email lists AND participants get amazing resources, and as the host, you get to expand your reach in a big way.
The process of organising a bundle might sound a bit daunting at first, but it’s really straightforward once you break it down. You start by choosing a theme or topic that resonates with your ideal client – something that addresses a specific problem or need they have. Then, you recruit contributors who align with that theme, set up a landing page for sign-ups, create a gift page linking to all the resources that they can get for free inside the bundle and promote the bundle like crazy while it’s live – which is generally 5 – 7 days. The bundle attendees normally then have a little bit of extra time after the bundle live period is over, where they can go through the gift page and sign up for any of the resources that they want access to.
Now, I want to share a bit about my own experience with digital bundles. I host these bundles quarterly for the members of The Email Growth Club, and I’ve also publicly hosted four big bundles:
AND I actually have a new one going live next week called The Ultimate Email Marketing Bundle! Each of these bundles has been an incredible opportunity to connect with new people, provide immense value, and most importantly, grow my email list. I’m talking hundreds – and sometimes even thousands of new subscribers from each bundle! It’s been a game changer not just for me, but for the members of The Email Growth Club as well. We’ve seen significant growth, more engagement, and an influx of new opportunities because of these free digital bundles.
Now of course, because I like to keep things real around here: there is a significant amount of work that goes into hosting your own digital bundle. There’s a lot of coordinating with multiple contributors, testing and uploading, and emails back and forward to make sure everything runs smoothly – but in my opinion, the benefits far outweigh the time spent. I’ve learned so much from hosting these bundles, and I can honestly say they’ve been one of the most effective strategies I’ve ever used for list growth to date.
Let me break it down for you.
First, they offer massive exposure. When you collaborate with multiple contributors, you’re not just tapping into your own audience – you’re accessing the combined reach of every contributor involved. That means your bundle has the potential to reach thousands, even tens of thousands, of people who might not have heard of you otherwise.
Second, the quality of subscribers you get from a bundle is often higher than other methods. Because these participants are opting in for specific, targeted resources that align with their interests, they’re more likely to be engaged and interested in what you have to offer. These are people who genuinely want what you’re providing, which means they’re more likely to open your emails, click your links, and eventually, become paying customers.
Third, bundles are a fantastic way to build relationships and network. By working closely with other entrepreneurs, you’re not only expanding your reach, but you’re also creating valuable connections that can lead to future collaborations, joint ventures, or even just friendships that support you on your entrepreneurial journey. That is worth every minute spent in my opinion – some of my closest business friends have come from collaborating with them in a bundle – whether I was the host or just the contributor. If you think about it, it makes sense as we already have something in common, we serve the same ideal clients!
And finally, free digital bundles are scalable. Whether you’re just starting out or you’re an experienced entrepreneur, you can tailor your bundle to fit your needs. You can start small with just a few contributors and grow as you gain confidence and experience. It really is up to you what kind of bundle you want to host or how big you want it to be!
If you’re ready to give digital bundles a try, here’s a quick step-by-step guide to get you started.
Remember, you are allowed to start small with this. If this is your first time hosting a bundle, don’t feel like you need to go big right out of the gate. Start with a smaller bundle, maybe with just a few contributors, and see how it goes, how it feels. You’ll learn a lot from that first experience, and you can always scale up from there…
Remember that consistency pays off. I’ve seen incredible growth in my email list from hosting bundles consistently. It’s not just about the immediate boost in subscribers; it’s about the long-term relationships and opportunities that come from those collaborations.
And if you’re looking for more support or guidance, I’d love to have you join The Email Growth Club. It’s a space where we dive deep into strategies like these, with step by step action plans and a lot of support – so if you want to host your own bundle in the next couple of months or even next year, come and join us and get the process started – with a whole community of entrepreneurs to connect, collaborate and cheer each other on! Simply visit: kyliekelly.com/emailgrowthclub for more details!
To quickly recap, digital bundles are an incredible way to grow your email list – offering massive exposure, high-quality subscribers, valuable networking opportunities, and scalability.
If you haven’t tried hosting a digital bundle yet, I encourage you to give it a go. It could be the game changer you’ve been looking for – and if you’re not quite ready to host your own bundle event, find one to participate in. When it comes to where to find bundles – there are certain FB groups that you can search to find bundle opportunities to be in – but, that’s actually one of things that I help my members do in The Email Growth Club! I get a lot of opportunities come to me through personal invites (which I love because as you all know, I’m not a huge fan of social media and don’t spend a great deal of time on there!) so I make all of those opportunities available for my members in the Collaborations Database. At the time of recording this, there are over 30 different opportunities open for them to apply to immediately. Well worth the $27 a month on it’s own!
I’m so glad you were here with me today – until next time, keep growing, keep connecting, and remember – your email list is your most valuable asset.
Kylie Kelly [00:00:00]:
Hello and welcome back to the email growth show. I’m your host, Kylie Kelly. And today I’m going to share with you my absolute favorite strategy for growing my email list in 2024, hosting free digital bundles. Now if you’ve been following me for a while, you know I’m all about finding effective relationship based ways to grow your email list without the constant grind of social media or paid ads. And let me tell you, digital bundles are an absolute game changer. Over the past year I’ve hosted multiple bundles, collectively added thousands of engaged subscribers to my email list, and today I’m going to share exactly why they work so well and how you can start to use this strategy too. So if you’re ready to take your email list growth to the next level, grab a coffee, get comfy, and let’s dive in. Are you a female business owner frustrated with battling the algorithm and looking for growth strategies that don’t involve awkwardly pointing or dancing online or throwing cash at paid ads? Welcome to The Email Growth Show.
Kylie Kelly [00:01:04]:
I’m your host, Kylie Kelly, visibility and email marketing strategist. I grew my email list from 0 to almost 10,000 subscribers in less than 2 years and the same is possible for you too. Are you ready to build your email list and start making more money in your online business? Let’s head into today’s episode. Okay. Let’s do this. So what are digital bundles and how do they work? A digital bundle is essentially a collection of high quality, normally paid resources or digital products all packaged together and offered to a targeted audience to solve a specific problem. The magic happens when you bring together multiple contributors, each offering something valuable, and in exchange for access to these resources participants sign up with their name and email address. It’s a win win.
Kylie Kelly [00:01:50]:
Contributors grow their email lists and participants get amazing resources. And as the host, you get to expand your reach in a big way. Now the process of organizing a bundle might sound a bit daunting at first, but it’s actually really straightforward once you break it down. So you start by choosing a theme or a topic that resonates with your ideal client, something that addresses a specific problem or need that they have. That is really important. It has to be specific. Then you recruit contributors who align with that theme or topic, set up a landing page for sign ups, create a gift page linking to all the resources that they can get for free inside the bundle, and then you all promote the bundle like crazy while it’s live. Generally that’s 5 to 7 days.
Kylie Kelly [00:02:33]:
The bundle attendees normally then have a little bit of extra time after the bundle live period is over where they can go through the gift page and sign up for any of the resources that they want access to. Now I want to share a little bit about my own experience with digital bundles. I host these bundles quarterly for the members of the Email Growth Club to help them grow their lists even faster. And I’ve also publicly hosted 4 big bundles. I’ve hosted the GoalGetter Biz Bundle, the Empowered Mompreneur Bundle, the Visible AF Bundle, and my most recent as recording this Kylie’s Birthday Bash Bundle. And I do actually have a new one going live next week called the Ultimate Email Marketing Bundle. Now I’m super excited about this new bundle because it’s packed with 30 plus high quality resources designed to help you start, grow, or monetize your email list. So whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your email strategy, this bundle will have something for everyone.
Kylie Kelly [00:03:24]:
So the link to sign up to the waitlist for next week is in the show notes below. Make sure you pop your name and email address in so that you can be the first to know once that bundle is live. Now each of these bundles has been an incredible opportunity to connect with new people, provide immense value and most importantly grow my email list. I’m talking 100 and sometimes even 1,000 of new subscribers from each bundle. It’s been an absolute game changer not just for me, but for the members of the email growth club as well. We’ve all seen significant growth, more engagement and an influx of new opportunities because of these free digital bundles. Now of course, because I like to keep things real around here, there is a significant amount of work that goes into hosting your own digital bundle. There’s a lot of coordinating with multiple contributors, testing and uploading, and emails back and forth to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Kylie Kelly [00:04:12]:
But in my opinion, the benefits far outweigh the time spent. I’ve learned so much from hosting these bundles and I can honestly say they’ve been one of the most effective strategies I’ve ever used for list growth to date. So why are free digital bundles the number one way to grow your email list? Let me break it down for you. 1st, they offer massive exposure. So when you collaborate with multiple contributors, you’re not just tapping into your own audience, you’re accessing the combined reach of every contributor involved. That means your bundle has the potential to reach 1,000, even tens of thousands of people who might not have heard of you otherwise. Now this is also a great point if you were starting from scratch, if you have a really small list or you’re just getting started, you don’t need to have a big list to host your own bundle. It is actually the perfect strategy to align yourself with other contributors that serve your ideal clients that may be more established in their business.
Kylie Kelly [00:05:03]:
If you host the bundle, if you do the legwork for them, if you create this platform for them to all collaborate together, it means that they’re going to be bringing their audience to sign up for the bundle, which means your email list is going to grow really fast. Right? So just know that even if you have a small list and you’re listening to this, don’t discount this strategy and think that it doesn’t apply to you. It is actually the perfect strategy to get that list growth happening. Now secondly, the quality of subscribers that you get from a bundle, I think, is often higher than other methods. Because these participants are opting in for specific targeted resources that align with their interests, they’re more likely to be engaged and interested in what you have to offer. These are people who genuinely want what you’re providing, which means they’re more likely to open your emails, click your links, and eventually become paying customers. This is also why it’s really important when you’re hosting a bundle, or even when you’re participating in 1, to make sure that the resource that you’re contributing, or the bundle that you’re creating, does speak to your ideal client in a specific targeted way. We don’t want to make a bundle that is too fluffy, too broad, too vague because we want that quality of subscribers to actually come across to us.
Kylie Kelly [00:06:09]:
Right? We don’t want to attract people that aren’t going to want to work with us in the future. We want to attract our perfect people, our ideal clients, our future customers, so that they can be then added to our email list through the bundle. So again, the quality of subscribers you get from a bundle, I think, is higher than other methods, but only if it is a targeted high quality bundle contributing with the right people. And thirdly, bundles are a fantastic way to build relationships and network. By working closely with other entrepreneurs, you’re not only expanding your reach, but you’re also creating valuable connections that can lead to future collaborations, joint ventures, or even just friendships that support you on your entrepreneurial journey. That is worth every minute spent, in my opinion. Some of my closest business friends have come from collaborating with them in a bundle. Whether I was the host or just a contributor, it was reaching out to them and saying, hey, we’re in this bundle together.
Kylie Kelly [00:06:56]:
I love what you’re putting in. Tell me about your business. Let’s connect. And then going deeper, right? Seeing what you have in common. But if you think about it, it makes sense that these are the perfect fit collaborators, friends, network for you to have because you already have something in common and you already serve the same ideal clients. So it is the perfect place to start building your network. And finally, free digital bundles are scalable. Whether you’re just starting out, like I said, or you’re an experienced business owner, you can tailor your bundle to fit your needs.
Kylie Kelly [00:07:24]:
So you can start small with just a few contributors and grow as you gain confidence and experience. It really is up to you what kind of bundle you want to host and how big you want it to be. So let’s talk about what’s involved in hosting a free digital bundle. I wanted to give you a quick step by step guide to get you started. So number 1. Firstly, start with planning. Choose a theme that resonates with your ideal client and addresses a specific need or problem that they have. Let me repeat that.
Kylie Kelly [00:07:52]:
A specific need or problem that they have. That is key. We don’t want some fluffy, vague, shitty type bundle because, trust me, there are enough of them out there and that will not attract your perfect person. Remember, that is always the goal. So be specific. Then start reaching out to potential contributors who align with that theme and topic. The key here is to ensure that every resource in the bundle provides real value and is something that your audience is going to be super excited about. Something that they can’t wait to get their hands on.
Kylie Kelly [00:08:20]:
Right? Then number 2. After this, you’re going to move on to execution. You’ll need to set up a landing page for signups. Now often you can just use Thrivecart or your email service provider to set that landing page up. It doesn’t have to be very complex. It can be quite simple. You’ll manage the contributions from your collaborators and plan out your promotional strategy. Make sure everyone involved knows what’s expected of them and when to promote the bundle to their audience.
Kylie Kelly [00:08:43]:
That is key. Remember, you are all leveraging each other’s audiences to grow your own. So everybody does need to promote, it does need to be a team effort. So make sure it is nice and clear so they know what is expected of them. And then finally, don’t forget about the follow-up. So once the bundle is over, it’s crucial to nurture your new subscribers. Set up a welcome sequence to introduce them to your world, provide additional value, and let them know what to expect from you moving forward. This is where value, and let them know what to expect from you moving forward.
Kylie Kelly [00:09:07]:
This is where you’ll start building that relationship that will turn new subscribers into loyal followers and customers in the future. You’re allowed to start small with this. If this is your first time hosting a bundle, don’t feel like you need to go big right out of the gate. Start with a smaller bundle, maybe just a few contributors, and see how it goes. See how it feels. You’ll learn a lot from that first experience and you can always scale up from there. Also remember that consistency pays off. I’ve seen incredible growth in my email list from hosting bundles consistently.
Kylie Kelly [00:09:36]:
It’s not just about the immediate boost in subscribers, it’s about the long term relationship and opportunities that come from these collaborations. And if you’re looking for more support or guidance, I’d love to have you join the email growth Club. So my membership is a space where we dive deep into strategies just like these with step by step action plans and a lot of support. If you haven’t tried hosting a digital bundle yet, I encourage you to give it a go. It honestly could be the game changer that you’ve been looking for.
Kylie Kelly [00:10:31]:
But if you’re not quite ready to host your own yet, find one to participate in. When it comes to where to find bundles to be a part of, there are certain Facebook groups you can search to find bundle opportunities to be in. But that is actually one of the things that I help members do in the email growth club as well. I get a lot of opportunities that come to me through personal invitations, which I absolutely love because as you all know I’m not a huge fan of social media and I don’t spend a great deal of time on there. So I make all of these opportunities that I get through my inbox available for my members in the collaborations database inside the membership. At the time of recording this, there are over 30 different opportunities open for them to apply to immediately. I’m sure you’ll agree that’s well worth the $27 a month on its own. Okay.
